Lin Ming

Lin Ming. Born in 1993 in Fuding, Fujian, Lin Ming is a painter whose work blends figuration and abstraction to explore states of memory and perception. Working primarily in oil, she builds up dense, nuanced layers to create compositions that oscillate between recognizable forms and atmospheric fields. Through this interplay of figure and ground, Lin evokes the feeling of moving through a dimly lit forest or recalling fleeting impressions. Her paintings often suggest human presence without overt depiction, inviting viewers into an introspective, dreamlike space.

Lin received her bachelor’s degree in 2016 and her master’s degree in 2020, both from the Oil Painting Department of the Tianjin Academy of Fine Arts. She lives and works in Tianjin. Her recent solo exhibitions include “Lin Ming Solo Exhibition” at PIN, Beijing (2025), “Through the Black Forest” at MoGe Gallery, Guangzhou (2020), and “Shape Records” at the Tianjin Academy of Fine Arts (2019). Lin’s work has been featured in group shows such as “Impromptu Escape” at Yu Heng Art Museum, Guangzhou (2022), and earlier exhibitions at the Himalayas Art Museum in Shanghai, Tianjin Art Museum, Luo Zhongli Art Museum in Chongqing, and the China Academy of Art Museum in Hangzhou.
