Elina Tailor

Elina Tailor (b. 1997) is a Latvian artist based in Riga. Her paintings and sculptures use familiar objects to examine how meaning, memory, and desire take shape. Recognizable symbols give her a starting point; their associations develop through an intuitive process, leaving room for the viewer’s interpretation.

In Pretty But Useless, vintage imagery becomes a way to question the relationship between value and usefulness. Her sculptural works pair antique plates with food forms, bringing the histories of everyday objects into contact with nostalgia. Hide and Seek, her Bachelor’s degree collection, considers the shared rules and assumptions that influence what people notice—and what they overlook.
Tailor completed her BA in Painting at the Art Academy of Latvia in 2026 and is pursuing an MA there. Her solo exhibitions include Pretty But Useless at Grand Poet Hotel and Happy Meal at ZEIT Art Gallery. She was a 2025 SEB Scholarship finalist and participated in ArtCamp Andorra.
