Where Is the Exit?

About the work
At first glance, the painting appears close to realism. The scene is controlled and ordinary, as if a moment has been caught in the middle of practice. There is no obvious declaration of absurdity.
But the longer we look, the stranger the scene becomes.
A young woman stands on a standard tennis court, properly dressed, fully equipped, and intensely focused. She is doing everything correctly. She is practicing for a match, waiting for the machine to send the next ball. Except they are not balls. They are eggs.
The absurdity is coldly presented. She keeps preparing and waiting, even though every attempt ends before it can become a real exchange. Camus imagined Sisyphus finding dignity in endless struggle. Here, repetition does not become triumph. It becomes exhaustion.
The tennis court becomes a symbol of the designed world: a place built by rules that appear neutral, but are not made for everyone. The young woman is not failing because she is doing something wrong. She is failing because the game is unfair.
The painting is about the violence of playing by the rules in a game never meant to be won. It leaves us with a question: how long do we keep practicing for a match that was never ours? Perhaps victory begins not with learning to play better, but with leaving the wrong court.
