Shell I
2023
Oil on canvas
80 × 60 cm / 31.5 × 23.6 in
About the work
"I’ve always believed that history is like ocean waves—constantly retreating and then surging forward again. In this sense, it’s a form of repetition. The Bible says, 'There is nothing new under the sun,' which likely refers to this idea. These repetitions, like the shells of multiple universes, continuously overlay, are forgotten, and discarded—a process of shedding layers. The journey of life mirrors this as well; you often find yourself repeating patterns, continually being reborn."
