Divine Perspective II

About the work
This painting stages a disorienting moment of becoming, seen from a divine vantage point. At its center, a young female body is folded into a bird's nest, a space meant for incubation, for the beginning of life. Yet here, it holds someone who has already outgrown it. What appears as protection is exposed as containment. Care stretches into postponement. What should mark a point of departure is held in suspension.
The figure is placed high within a barren tree, suspended over an open, indifferent landscape. From above, she is both exposed and distant; the gaze recalls how the female body is positioned within systems of visibility, seen, interpreted, and often objectified. The cool, subdued environment stands in sharp contrast to the vitality of her skin, making her presence feel almost luminous, but undeniably out of place. The precise realism of the brushwork heightens this effect, allowing the surreal image to read with clarity.
The symbolism unfolds: the nest holds a double meaning, both the shelter of childhood and its restraint. leafless tree and barren terrain intensify a sense of isolation, marking the loneliness and uncertainty that accompany growth. Within this space, the painting captures a clear tension: the pull between remaining protected and stepping into independence. Beneath this lies a deeper fragility shaped within a patriarchal framework, where autonomy is not simply possessed but something that must be negotiated.
From this perspective, the work reveals a condition that often remains hidden from view: the moment when care starts to become limited, when protection begins to delay action, and when belonging begins to conflict with selfhood.
