In A Wound Disguised as a Bloom, a bullet rests at the center of the magnolia, replacing the flower’s source of life with an object of harm. Yet the flower does not collapse around the injury. It continues to open, holding the wound within its own beauty.
The painting suggests that trauma does not always announce itself as ruin. Sometimes it survives as elegance, as the fragile dignity of something still blooming around what has pierced it.
